Gadgets And Gizmos: Acoustic Guitar with Tips On How To Get An Electric Sound From An Acoustic Guitar

Yay! Just got a new guitar! :-D here it is! And some other accesories. The guitar is quite cheap. It is RM160(about 55USD). But it has a very nice sound. So if you wanna buy a guitar, dont judge it by the price. Sometimes a cheap guitar sound even better than the expensive ones. Ok, now lets move on to the accesories,the first one is pickup. It will change the vibration of the strings into electrical waves, and when it is plugged in to an ampifier or speaker, it will change into sound waves but this time you can control the tune and the volume. Its price is RM80. Ok next is a capo. It is used to raise the pitch. There are many types of capo. I bought this one for RM16(cheap) Next is the bag, I'm sure you know the purpose of a bag, so i don't need to tell you... :-D This bag is Helicon branded. It has 3 compartments to put in some things. It is also quite cheap. I got it for RM90-RM100. Next in the list is my Fab Overdrive Pedal. Ok, this is the most important thing to get electric guitar sound. This Fab pedal sounds very "electrical" and I think it is way better than an electric guitar. I watch some demo for overdrive pedals but I think this sounds great! It is cheap, just RM80 (16USD). Ok, now we move on to the adapter. This is the adapter for the pedal. Or if you don't want to use adapter, you could also use a 9v battery, but my advice is do not use battery. It could be just a few hours before the battery dies. It costs RM36. Next is the strap. This is used for playing guitar while standing. It is very strong and light. Just RM16. Ok now the cables. The first one is pickup to pedal/ampifier. I got this for free with the pickup... Ok next is Pedal to ampifier (mono to mono). This is a high quality cable that my father bought for me. It is RM38. Ok the last one is a converter. This is for connecting the pickup to a normal stereo. But it will still sound mono. Ok, that's all from me. If you wanna buy guitar and accesories, come to Malaysia! There are some places you could go. 1. C&M Music Centre, 4th floor, Plaza Angsana, Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. 2. The Guitar Collection, Ground floor, Sunway Pyramid, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. Just search around, I'm sure you will find a lot of guitar stores here in Malaysia.

Experiments: Sports drink

Yeah, I know you thought this was a recipe, but it is an Experiment. Ok, have you ever seen this? I know you do. Now let's make it!

First, you need
-4tsp of sugar
-1/4 tsp of salt
-1 tsp of flavoring
-1glass of water...
Mix and enjoy...

Experiments: Insect catcher

Insect are cool, aren't they? But its hard to take a closer look without catching it, and it is also hard to catch an insect. So with some creativity and science, we can make an insect catcher. What you need is a plastic container, two straws or plastic tubes, some plasticine and a piece of muslin. You could also use a small piece of thin cloth. First, make two holes on the plastic container's cap. Then, take the lid out. Insert the tubes into it. Cover one of the tube's end with the cloth and secure it with a rubber band. Put the lid onto the container and screw tight. Put some plasticine at the holes on the cap around the container so that air won't escape. How to use it?- first, find an insect. Then, put the insect in tube near the insect. Suck the air in tube 'till the insect goes in. To release the insect, just open the lid and let it go away. Enjoy!

In The Kitchen: Egg sandwich

Want some cool breakfast? Try this out! You will need..
1. 4 slices of bread
2. 1 hard boiled egg (diced)
3. 1 tablespoon of mayonaise
4. 1 teaspoon of butter
5. A pinch of salt
6. A pinch of pepper
7. A pinch of italian herbs
Steps
1. First, mix all the ingredients except for the bread.
2. Then, put half of the mixture onto a slice of bread and cover it with another slice of bread.
3. Repeat the second step to the other two slices of bread.
This is my mom's recipe... :-)

Experiment: Silly putty

Do you like silly putty? If you do, this experiment is for you! First, put 3 parts of school glue. Add food colouring if you want. Next, put 1 or 2 parts of laundry detergent. Stir and knead with your hands. Lastly, rinse with some water to wash the detergent. Do not rinse too much. I know you will like it.

Experiments: blast off!!

Try this out!
First, find a small container. Fill with water till 3/4 full. This is the part you need to be fast. Put a vitamin C tablet (or panadol soluble but it might not work). Turn it upside down... Run, or else it will wet your shirt! 3,2,1 BLAST OFF!!! Good luck.:D
